Of Contra Costa County’s uninsured under the age of 65, 44% are Latino, 35% are White, 19% are Asian, 7% are African-American, 3% are Native American.

In Contra Costa County, 40% of Native Americans, 35% of Latinos, 15% of Asians, 14% of African-Americans and 7% of Whites are uninsured.

48% of Contra Costa County’s uninsured have incomes under 200% of the Federal Poverty Line, which in 2006 was $19,600 for one person, $26,400 for a two-person family, and $33,200 for a three-person family.

59% of Contra Costa County’s uninsured are employed.
